Let me take a minute to describe who we are. We are normal everyday people. We go to work, come home pay the bills, and play on the weekend. We like the water, sports, animals and our friends. We think Family is important. We get angry; we grieve when we lose something dear to us. We get sick, our cars break down, and some days we get up on the wrong side of the bed. We have conflict in our lives and struggle with the same questions that you do. When we practice what we preach, life is good, when we revert back to old ways, life gets chaotic and difficult. We know the stuff we are about to share works, because we live it. And when we don’t live it, life gets tough again.
Eloise is a female through and through. She needs to process, and talk and has been known to be called the “foo foo queen of the universe”. She also has been touted as the “premium bohemian”, in that she lives her life, just a little out of the box. She likes color, and is complicated. She is generous, and selfish. She is creative, and gets bored easily. She needs to be free, but also has to be grounded. She loves to eat comfort food and is always on a diet. She will eat chocolate with a diet soda. She can go to a business meeting in tailored suit…and run to her car in her bare feet, so as not to get her shoes wet. She loves hugs, but will be colder than an ice cube if that hug is demanded of her. She will run up her credit card bills, while meticulously saving for retirement. She will leave you an annonymous love note, while making sarcastic comments about your inattention to her. She is silly and will giggle, and will dance naked in the moon. But Eloise will get in your face if you have shown her you are unjust and unfair. She is powerful, but still finds it difficult to accept a compliment. She is intimidating and approachable. She is wild and moral. She is demanding, and tolerant.
She is truthful but kind. She is wise, and stupid about the dumbest things. She trusts nothing or no one, but is an absolute believer in the unseen and unknown. She is beautiful, despite half her dinner being on her blouse, and hair uncombed probably for days. Her reality changes every day. But has a stability that is unwavering. Just when you think you know her, she blows you away with a gesture, a comment or a deed that defies description. She has awful grammar, her diction is poor, but knows exactly what she wants to say, and says it with such conviction that you forget to criticize or correct. Eloise is a child, in a grown up body, who has survived adulthood. She has the scars, which are fading. She refuses to see them when she looks in the mirror. Her only goal now is to return to the playful, simplistic, kindness and of a child. She drives you crazy, but life is just not the same without her. Eloise is madly in love with life, and with being human. She loves the earth, the mountains, the water, the fire, the stars, wind and moon. She is in love with her journey, with God, with her spirit guides. She loves her past, pain and all. She loves her future. Eloise loves change, loves connection and loves being with her best friend and split apart Jake.
Jake on the other hand, is simple, concrete, black and white and predictable. Jake is a man, a very typical man. He is content, he is quiet. Jake has little need for words. He is a doer, a worker, a completer. He is content, and has no need to change, or grow or participate on a journey, but he does it anyway. He lives in every moment. When life challenges him, he always steps up to the plate. He is not a fighter, but will fight for the weak, the underdog, or the down trodden. Jake has a sharp tongue, but a soft heart. Jake reaches out to the helpless, but hates those who act helpless. He is patient with the ignorant, but detests those who are educated, and act stupid. He will let you in front of him in a line, but if you demand it, his stubbornness will break you. He is never alone, but often avoids superficial contact with humans. Animals hear him with out words, and people are often healed with his touch. He is neat and orderly, but will open up to short periods of chaos and spontaneity. He needs very little but feels he has a lot. He is single minded. Jakes only purpose in life is to be available to Eloise. He himself is a free spirit, but acts as rock to keep Eloise grounded. He is inspired by Eloise’s passion, but he is peaceful without it. Jake is a very old wise soul, who longs to be a child again. He is a grown up in a grown up body, looking to play as a child again.
